 Falar de Deodato faz-me recuar no tempo para o meu saudoso e amado Artebar...ou seja 2000, 2001 !!

Deo, Wilson, Julinho, Pazedi, Machote, Stewart, Chonguiça, 340ml, Chunga, Nanando, Katawala, Celso Paco, Zé Maria e tantos outros que me perdoem aqueles que não mencionei  faziam as 5º a noite do Artebar, o lugar de lançamento de novos valores, o espaço , o palco para as bandas que queriam tocar...

O nosso País nunca investiu na Cultura e nessa época o Arte era com mais 1 ou 2 espaços os únicos que pagavam um pequeno caché para que se fizesse música séria!!!

O Arte fechou, os anos passaram e as histórias destes músicos tiveram destinos diferentes..

O Deodato tinha desaparecido do meu imaginário até que um dia no Facebook o reencontrei !!!

Grande self made man, rumou para a Europa e se radicou em Estocolmo onde vive desde 2001 e onde criou a sua marca , a Siquir Music.

Com uma carreira construída a pulso é  hoje um nome de peso na World Music.

Baterista virtuoso, depois de ter tocado em várias bandas em Maputo, com Dua, Stewart, Wilson e outros, faz na Escandinávia um percurso semelhante tocando com músicos de jazz e não só, entre eles  Ayi Solomon, Etienne Mbappé, Jorge Bezerra, Linley Marthe, Sofi Hellborg, Soweto Kinch, Moussa Diallo, Bobby Rickets, Maureen Lilanda e outros

Em 2007 lança o seu 1º álbum " Balanço " que ficaria durante muitas semanas no top 10 do World Music Chart Europe.

O álbum " Mutema" terá lançamento internacional no próximo dia 09/07...

Neste dia  no Gil Vicente, na nossa capital, serão vendidos originais, uma edição limitada !!!

Grande trabalho do Deo que na diáspora leva bem alto o nome da música de Moçambique

Mais um jovem europeu a bombar reggae 5 estrelas !!!

Cornadoor, criado em Bielefeld  na Alemanha, apaixonado pelo reggae desde miúdo é  através dos discos do pai que descobre o rei Marley que o marca profundamente .

O pai apaixonado por música leva-o desde muito novo para o mundo dos concertos...

mais tarde e após várias viagens  a Jamaica rende-se ao estilo de vida jamaicano e ao patois, o crioulo jamaicano; dai a começar a tocar e cantar foi um salto.

Em 2008  foi votado o melhor recém chegado reggaeman , o prémio revelação da  revista Riddim Magazine

Faltava o álbum e eis que em 2010 surge este espectacular roots reggae álbum Without Restrictions ..

Reggae Jamaicano que só não poderemos considerar puro porque é feito por um europeu....

Para mim é reggae de grande qualidade e puro !!!

Van Morrison calls James Hunter "the best voice and best-kept secret in British R&B and soul." And the Colchester native and former busker does, indeed, sound like a one-man blue-eyed revival on his U.S. debut, People Gonna Talk. He navigates 14 self-penned ska (the title track), soul-blues ("Kick It Around"), and primal funk ("No Smoke Without Fire") tunes with panache. Protoje - Seven Year Itch 2011

Since his emergence on the local music scene last summer, budding reggae artist Oje Ollivierre, otherwise known as Protoje, has made quite an impression on Caribbean music lovers as well as industry insiders.

Ollivierre was one of those persons who was born in the 1980s but wished he was born in the '60s because of his love for vintage reggae music.

The artiste who hails from St Elizabeth said he is happy with his music and thinks it is unique.

"It's not really a present-day sound but it offers me the opportunity to experiment with music while at the same time bringing a vintage sound to it. That's the type of music I grew up on and that's what I want to do, but it's just that it's not the norm right now," he said.

Protoje's music can be classified as dubstyle reggae.

"There's a bit of dub in the music, there's a rock guitarist in the band and my writing style represents the subtle hip-hop aspect so when all of them are fused you get a unique sound," he said.

The singer has been busy. He recently released two new music videos for his singles Dread and JA. Apart from that, he has been in the studio with his cousin, chart-topping producer Donovan 'Don Corleon' Bennett, working on his debut album, The Seven Year Itch. The album, he said, should be ready for release by the end of summer.

According to Protoje, the sky is the limit but he hopes to start travelling soon. "I want to start travelling and getting on the road, as well as working on other album concepts although it's more about getting on the road now," he said.

"The response of the people has been so good. I think it is time to take it to the streets. The most common thing that I have heard from people about my music is that it is different. Even established entertainers tell me that and it really means a lot because I am trying to be as different as possible while at the same time keeping the message positive."
